There really is a great fraternity amongst people in the high-end industry. We have been doing this since CES 04 and have witnessed it on occasion, but here at CES 09, we have first-hand evidence!
Turns out that in our own exhibit room we had a mis-match of cable connectors for our long interconnect from the pre-amp to the amplifiers. We had intended to use a balanced cable, and only had our new Elation! prototypes with XLR connectors.
We started walking around the show, visiting Cardas, Kimber/WBT, and Tara Labs rooms. Each of those manufacturers did everything they could to try to locate the RCA-XLR adapter that we needed in spite of the fact they were hustling to get their own rooms ready.
In the end, Jeremy Bryan of Tara Labs went out of his way to locate them, and then delivered them to our room and hung out a bit with us.
